Cleopatra’s life story is fascinating, as is Hatshepsut’s, an Egyptian princess who became a king. I relished stories about Amazonian women, who some legends contend removed a breast to enhance shooting their bows.
I delighted in watching Xena, Warrior Princess, carve her way through her opponents, swords flashing, but sexy as hell.
The Windflowers Trilogy concept started with my desire to write about a female gladiator – a feminator. Then Kalli took over and I’ve been writing her story ever since.
