A few months ago I was privileged to take part in Piction’s Readers and Writers Forum. This was a fantastic opportunity to mingle with other authors and publishing professionals. I came away with my head spinning with many new ideas. I also came away with an armload of print books and several additions on my kindle.
I was so impressed with Belinda Mellor’s fantasy novel, Silvana, The Greening, I had to share it here. This novel is a contender for my top 10 reads of 2014. Wondrous and haunting.
Like the last lingering sweet note of a plucked harp string this story echoed through my thoughts long after I’d reluctantly closed the final page. My best attempt to categorize this wondrous story with its eloquent prose would be as a literary fantasy. The imagery is hauntingly beautiful and a feast for the senses – floral scents and musical lilts almost wafting off the turning pages. I’m delighted that the next in this series is due out soon. Silvana is a storytelling masterpiece – highly recommend!
