Thank you, Wendy. I write lots of fictional stories, but this one about my mom and the one I wrote about my husband are the most raw.

My friend's mother had dementia in her last few years, and I remember how heartbreaking it was for her. Sending you and your mom some love today, Heather. :-)

Heather's post is truly heartbreaking. It's difficult to lose a loved one, but has to be a thousand times more difficult to lose a loved one over and over again to this horrible disease. Thank you for sharing, Wendy!

This is such a heart-wrenching post, Heather. I nursed my darling mother-in-law in the last years of her eventful life. It broke my heart that she had no recollection of me or of the forty plus years of laughter and tears we had shared. Thanks for sharing this with us on your site, Wendy.

I feel for those stricken with this disease, Suzanne. I don't know what it's like to be so disconnected from those around you. Mom wants to go home and take care of her mother and father.
