The Wishing Shelf Awards were the first book awards I've entered. With just a few days to go before the entries closed in December 2015 I contacted Edward to see if they would consider accepting my book, Hieroglyph. So glad they did as Hieroglyph went on to win a Gold Medal in the year 9-12 category.
What I like about this award is that it's judged by 'real readers', and in my case this means children.
Feedback given is their honest opinions, and that is worth gold to an author.
I also liked that I'd receive a catchy quote to use on my website, book blurb, or book description.
Here's Hieroglyph's quote: "A fantastical mix of history and fantasy. A GOLD medal winner and highly recommended." The Wishing Shelf Book Awards.
See below the excerpts from The Wishing Shelf Website.
Submissions are now open for the 2016 Wishing Shelf Book Awards - Authors, I highly recommend you enter your books.
Happy Reading,
Wendy
