Here's a tip on how you can stop thinking about writing a story, and actually start writing it.
CREATE YOUR OWN WRITING SPACE
Set up a dedicated writing station area.
Best if you can designate somewhere permanently so you can leave your writing tools and reference material in place.
Think about the environmental factors - is this area suitable for writing (space, temperature, lighting, disruptions etc).
Once you've claimed a space think of it as your writing area - this is where you will create your stories.
If you have to use a shared area like the dining room table, organise your work materials into a portable container so it can be kept together (I used to use a small suitcase).
For over 3 years, while living in a housetruck, I wrote by candle light and ran my laptop off a solar powered battery.
Every night when I'd finished writing I packed it away into a cupboard underneath the seat.
I shared this space with my partner, our baby boy, our fur baby ( a Staffy called Jessie), and an adopted wild cat (Pussy Willows).
I've heard stories of other authors who escaped noisy apartments by writing in their cars.
Schedule writing time at your writing space.
Put out the do-not-disturb sign.
Eliminate distractions by turning off the phone and internet.
Treat your writing time as sacrosanct, and train others to respect this time by leaving you undisturbed so you can create.
Once you have created space and time; your writing journey can begin.
Drop by my blog again soon as I'll continue to share more writing tips.
Happy Writing,
